Work In Progress

This is my backyard flowerbed and patio garden.  When we bought this house almost 5 years ago the backyard was a jungle and the front yard was a total mess to which we decided to tackle first.  But the backyard was a work in progress that took me spending a small fortune in plants and having them all die to realize that we would have to amend the soil and totally redo the flower bed.  Now it's my little love affair,  every weekend I spend most of my time in the backyard.

My mom helped me with the butterfly plant selection.  Thank god for her,  I wouldn't know anything about anything without her.  I get so sad when a plant dies because I keep this garden going because of her and her awesome yard!

Murphy loves to sniff around the flowerbed and he would not get out of the way of the camera.

Star Jasmine with a trellis made from an old headboard that I stole from my neighbors trash pile.
The Butterfly Weed that will be gone by the end of summer due to the monarch caterpillars.
 Murphy photo bombing again.

Cigar plant, Lantana, Greg's Blue Mist
Colby's slab for his new BBQ pit.  He worked his butt off doing this.
The metal lattice work thingy is an old screen that used to be on our windows and I am using it for a transplanted Passion Vine to grow on.

Playlist - Dance Songs

These are by far my most favorite dance songs.  When I say dance songs I mean high energy that you can workout to, wakeup to and dance to.  Most of these songs are the ones that I play when I want to wake up or get in a better mood on the way to work.

I really need to make this into a cd and send it up to my good friend Cara.  We do mix tape cd's for each other that we dub the Caramel mix.  Yes, we are that nerdy!

1. Modjo - Lady
2. Basement Jaxx - Raindrops
3. Black Eyed Peas - Rock That Body
4. Stardust - Music Sounds Better With You
5. Justin Timberlake - Like I Love You
6. Kaskade - Stepping Out
7. Madonna - Hung Up
8. Paul Oakenfold - Faster Kill Pussycat
9. Modjo - Chillin'
10. Kylie Minogue - Get Outta My Way
11. Crystal Waters - 100% Pure Love
12. Britney Spears - Slave 4 U
13. New Order - Bizarre Love Triangle
14. Depeche Mode - Enjoy the Silence
15. Madonna - Heartbeat
16. Gwen Stefani - What You Waiting For? (Jacques Lu Cont Remix)
17. Robyn - Dancing On My Own
18. La Roux - Bulletproof
19. Notorious B.I.G. - Hypnotize
20. Lady Gaga - Bad Romance

I would have done a video playlist but blogger and youtube don't get a long.  At least they don't for me.

Favorte Plants - Part 1 - Passion Vine

My husband calls them the Dr. Seuss flower.  It's one of the most craziest looking flowers I have ever seen and the Caterpillars and Butterflies love it!  You hardly even have to water it once it starts going.

How I love eBay.  I scored this L.A.M.B. bag for $65!! It retailed for $345.  (I am sorry but I would never pay that much for a handbag.  I don't care how much I love it.)

Meme had a little L.A.M.B.

I love Gwen Stefani,  ever since 1995 when I saw "Just A Girl" on MTV's 120 minutes.  I love her so much I have a picture of her drinking coffee overlooking designs for her L.A.M.B label framed in my bathroom.  It's there to remind me to not take the easy way out and wear a t-shirt and jeans everyday.  Now, I can't afford any of her clothing line, and even if I could I couldn't wear it as a Kindergarten teacher but I can carry the L.A.M.B. handbags.  I have three bags and a wallet in my collection, with an id/key case and 2 zip clutches on the way (thank you eBay!).  But now I must wait for my favorites to hit eBay.  Sorry, Nordstrom, I just paid off my store credit card and you will no longer get anymore money.

Really: Spirit Hoods

Obviously turning 30 has made my coolness level dip because I had no idea these were that big of a deal nor did I know they are hip.  I remember watching the China episode of An Idiot Abroad and some of the people on the Great Wall were walking around in Panda Hats similar to these.  I really had no idea that people were taking it to this level.  I am so wanting this to be a big joke.  To quote Mr. Antoine Dodson, "You are really dumb."

Favorites: Face

I hate overly complicated face care routines. I always find myself saying, "This time I am going to stick doing the whole program." Then I do and my face looks exactly the same with random huge breakout spots. But this skin care regimen I am doing now is working so well that I actually am sticking to it. Well, kinda, your supposed to do it once in the am and then in the pm. I never remember to wash my face in the am.

The face wash melts all makeup off your face and leaves your face moisturized.  The serum works wonders and my skin looks better after I put it on.  The moisturizer is so light and creamy but for some reason burn my eyes even though I don't put it anywhere near them.  The eye and lip cream makes the dark under eye circles vanish.  And the Kiehl's Lip Balm #1  transforms my lips from dry to super soft instantly.
